The site consisted of 7 connected buildings, four levels high, constructed of load bearing perimeter brick walls and internal timber floor structures, supported on timber beams and timber columns. Originally built as a wool storage facility the contract was to renovate and refurbish the 50,000 square metres of floor space into a fully operational university campus. The Great Hall involved removing three floors of hardwood timber and this was achieved by working from the roof down to the foundations. Using the top floor as scaffold to work on the roof, ceiling and other services, we then proceeded to remove the floors, one after the other.

Wycombe Constructions Pty Ltd received the 1997 Master Builder Association Victoria award in the category ‘Excellence in Renovation/Refurbishment/Fitoutof public Buildings, including Education and Health Facilities’ for the Woolstores project.
